Last date to apply: Sunday 06 Sep, 2026 The Career Guidance Specialist will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering career guidance services for students pursuing higher education opportunities in Pakistan and abroad. The incumbent will provide individualized counseling on postgraduate studies, scholarships, admissions, and career pathways while designing awareness initiatives, organizing workshops and information sessions, and building relationships with universities and relevant stakeholders. The role will also contribute to enhancing career guidance services by developing student resources, monitoring outcomes, and supporting institutional objectives related to student success and graduate progression. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Provide individualized career and academic counseling to students interested in pursuing postgraduate studies, professional certifications, research opportunities, and international education. • Assess students academic backgrounds, career aspirations, skills, and research interests to recommend suitable universities, programs, and career pathways. • Develop and implement annual career guidance initiatives, workshops, seminars, webinars, and awareness sessions on graduate studies, scholarships, and career planning. • Build and maintain relationships with local and international universities, scholarship providers, educational consultants, alumni, and other stakeholders to enhance opportunities for students. • Maintain and regularly update a comprehensive database of postgraduate programs, admission requirements, scholarships, fellowships, exchange programs, and emerging higher education opportunities. • Guide students in preparing competitive application documents, including Statements of Purpose (SOPs), Personal Statements, CVs, research proposals, recommendation requirements, and other admission-related documentation. • Advise students on standardized admission tests such as GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, and other relevant examinations, including preparation resources and application timelines. • Coordinate university visits, graduate school fairs, information sessions, scholarship awareness campaigns, and networking events with academic institutions and industry professionals. • Monitor student applications, admission outcomes, scholarship awards, and placement statistics, and prepare periodic reports and dashboards for management. • Maintain accurate records of counseling sessions, student engagement activities, feedback, and performance indicators while ensuring confidentiality of student information. • Develop career guidance resources, guides, digital content, and communication materials related to graduate studies, scholarships, and career development. • Collaborate with academic departments, faculty members, alumni, and Career Development Center colleagues to enhance student career readiness and graduate progression initiatives. • Identify emerging trends and best practices in higher education, graduate admissions, and career counseling, and recommend improvements to Career Development Center services. • Support departmental initiatives, strategic projects, employer engagement activities, and any other responsibilities assigned by the Head of Department. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: • Bachelors degree from an HEC-recognized university/institution. A Masters degree in Education, Psychology, Counseling, Business Administration, Management, or a related discipline will be preferred. • Minimum 4-5 years of experience preferably in career guidance, student counseling, university admissions, graduate studies advising, career services, or a related field. • Experience within a higher education institution will be preferred. KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES: • Sound knowledge of postgraduate education systems, admission processes, and scholarship opportunities in Pakistan and internationally. • Familiarity with standardized admission tests such as GRE, GMAT, TOEFL, IELTS, and other relevant examinations. • Strong counseling, interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills. • Excellent stakeholder management and relationship-building abilities. • Strong research, analytical, and report-writing skills. • Ability to organize workshops, career events, and outreach initiatives. • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and online collaboration tools. • Strong planning, coordination, and project management skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive student information with professionalism. • Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
