Last date to apply: Friday 13 Nov, 2026 The Database Administrator will administer IBAs Oracle enterprise databases, including Oracle 19c RAC (multi-node clustered) environments, ensuring high availability, performance, security, and data integrity. The role covers backup, recovery, and restoration, resolution of production and operational issues, proactive monitoring of database health and capacity, and the design of processes and metrics for capacity planning, performance tuning, and business continuity. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: • Administer and support Oracle Databases in single-instance and Oracle RAC (multi-node) environments, including cluster-aware operations and failover handling. • Work with Information/Data Architects and Database Designers to implement and maintain physical data models for OLTP and Data Warehouse systems across development, test, and production. • Create, manage, and optimize database objects (tablespaces, schemas, indexes, partitions) and their physical organization across nodes. • Monitor database performance, workload distribution, and resource utilization (CPU, memory, I/O) in RAC environments using OEM and native Oracle tools. • Develop and implement performance tuning strategies, including SQL tuning, wait event analysis, AWR/ASH reports, and capacity planning. • Plan, test, and execute upgrades, patching, PSU/RU deployments, and migrations, including RAC rolling upgrades with minimal downtime. • Implement and maintain RMAN backup and recovery strategies, including RAC-aware backups, restores, and point-in-time recovery. • Define and support DR and HA strategies, including Data Guard and cluster failover mechanisms. • Ensure database security and compliance, including user management, role-based access control, auditing, encryption, and patch management. • Advise application development teams on database architecture, constraints, and performance considerations. • Develop and enforce standards for database design, naming conventions, and best operational practices. • Prepare and maintain technical documentation, SOPs, and runbooks for database and RAC operations. • Provide off-hours support and participate in on-call rotation for critical production systems. QUALIFICATION & EXPERIENCE: • BS/BE or equivalent degree from an HEC-recognized institution, preferably in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related discipline. • A minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in Oracle Database administration, preferably with hands-on experience in Oracle Database 19c RAC (two-node or multi-node) environments. Preferred Certifications (Optional) • Oracle Certified Professional (OCP) - Oracle Database Administration. • Oracle RAC / Grid Infrastructure certification. KNOWLEDGE & COMPETENCIES: • Strong expertise in Oracle Database Administration, particularly Oracle Database 19c RAC, cluster architecture, workload balancing, high availability (HA), and disaster recovery (DR). • Strong knowledge of logical and physical data modelling, indexing strategies, database partitioning, and database maintenance. • Hands-on experience with database performance monitoring and tuning tools, including Oracle Enterprise Manager (OEM), AWR, and ASH, with the ability to analyze and resolve performance bottlenecks affecting database, system, and application performance. • Proficiency in RMAN backup and recovery, including database restoration and point-in-time recovery, as well as Oracle Data Guard for high availability and disaster recovery. • Familiarity with Linux/Unix operating systems and shell scripting for database administration is an added advantage. • Experience administering other database platforms, including MySQL, Microsoft SQL Server, and PostgreSQL, will be considered an added advantage.
