Purpose of the Position: The Social Safeguard Officer will be responsible for supporting implementation, monitoring, and compliance of social safeguard measures including community engagement, inclusion, grievance management, gender and vulnerable group considerations, and adherence to environmental and social safeguard frameworks under the project. Key Responsibilities The Social Safeguard Officer shall perform, but not be limited to, the following duties: • Support implementation of social safeguard policies, procedures, and frameworks in project activities. • Ensure project interventions comply with donor safeguard requirements and organizational policies. • Conduct social screening and support preparation of social safeguard documentation where required. • Facilitate community consultations, stakeholder engagement sessions, and awareness activities. • Ensure inclusion and participation of women, vulnerable groups, minorities, persons with disabilities, and marginalized communities in project activities. • Support implementation and monitoring of Gender Action Plans, Social Management Plans, and community engagement activities. • Coordinate and support grievance redress mechanisms (GRM) at field level. • Maintain records of complaints, grievances, consultations, and resolutions. • Conduct regular field monitoring visits to assess compliance with social safeguard measures. • Support awareness sessions regarding labour rights, child protection, gender sensitivity, social inclusion, and community participation. • Coordinate with Village Councils, communities, contractors, field teams, and government stakeholders regarding safeguard compliance. • Prepare social safeguard monitoring reports, field reports, case studies, and documentation. • Support implementation of community mobilization and participatory development approaches. • Assist in trainings and orientations on social safeguards and community engagement for staff and stakeholders. • Report social safeguard concerns, incidents, or non-compliance issues to project management. • Perform any other task assigned by the supervisor related to social safeguards and community engagement. Required Qualifications and Experience • Master degree (16 years of education) in Social Sciences, Sociology, Anthropology, Development Studies, Public Administration, Environmental and Social Sciences, Gender Studies, or any other relevant discipline from a recognized institution. • Relevant professional experience in social safeguards, community development, social mobilization, gender and inclusion, or donor-funded development projects will be an added advantage. • Experience working with donor on Environmental and Social Framework (ESF) or similar donor safeguard requirements will be preferred. • Experience in community engagement, grievance redress mechanisms, and participatory development approaches. • Familiarity with rural development and local governance systems in KP and merged districts will be an advantage. • Strong reporting, documentation, and coordination skills. • Proficiency in MS Office applications.
