Job Description: About the Role: Dr. Warda Riaz (Department of Economics, LUMS) is recruiting a Session Lead for a lab-in-the-field experimental research project, conducted in collaboration with colleagues from the University of East Anglia and Qatar University. The Session Lead will be the primary facilitator running experimental sessions on the ground — administering the protocol, managing the room, and ensuring every session is delivered consistently and to a high standard. This position is open to male candidates only, as the role requires leading sessions with male participant groups in line with the study's field protocol. Responsibilities • Leading and facilitating lab-in-the-field experimental sessions directly with participants, following the study protocol precisely • Reading instructions/scripts clearly and managing participant questions during sessions • Managing session logistics — venue setup, participant flow, timing, and troubleshooting on the spot • Ensuring strict adherence to the experimental protocol and data collection guidelines • Coordinating with the RA team to keep sessions running on schedule • Monitoring session quality and flagging any protocol deviations or issues to the research team • Supporting data coding and handling (in Urdu and English) as needed • Attending all mandatory training sessions and the pilot before fieldwork begins Qualification: • Full availability, with NO fixed schedule, throughout the entire engagement period (late September 2026 – January 2027) is essential. Fieldwork will total 12–15 days, but these days are NOT clustered or predictable — they may fall on ANY dates across this four-month window, based on the study's requirements. Applicants must be able to commit to being called upon at short notice, at any point during this period, for both individual fieldwork days and training sessions. This is a strict, non-negotiable requirement — please do not apply if you have fixed commitments (e.g., classes, another job, travel plans) that would prevent you from being available on short notice across these months. • Must attend all pre-fieldwork training sessions and the pilot, which may also be scheduled on any dates within the engagement period • Bachelor's degree required; a Master's degree in Economics, Social Sciences, or a related discipline is preferred • Prior experience facilitating, moderating, or leading group sessions, workshops, training, or research/experimental activities • Confident and comfortable speaking in front of and managing groups of participants • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in Urdu, and to read/write clearly in English • Familiarity with lab-in-the-field or experimental economics methods is desirable but not essential • Resourceful, calm under pressure, and able to run sessions independently without close day-to-day supervision • Reliable, responsible, and detail-oriented, with strong organisational skills Application Instructions: Interested candidates should email their CV and a short note on their availability and relevant experience to warda.riaz@lums.edu.pk, with the subject line "Session Lead Application – Lab-in-the-Field Experiments."
