Job Title: Accountant Job Summary The Accountant is responsible for managing the organization's financial records, ensuring accurate bookkeeping, preparing financial reports, and maintaining compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements. The role supports the finance function by monitoring daily financial transactions, assisting with budgeting, payroll, tax compliance, and financial analysis. Key Responsibilities • Record and maintain accurate financial transactions in the accounting system. • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and reports. • Reconcile bank statements, supplier accounts, and general ledger accounts. • Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes. • Process invoices, payments, receipts, and journal entries. • Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts. • Monitor cash flow and report any discrepancies or financial risks. • Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting standards, and statutory regulations. • Prepare and file tax returns, including VAT/Sales Tax and withholding tax, where applicable. • Support internal and external audits by providing required documentation and reports. • Maintain accurate financial records and supporting documentation. • Assist with payroll processing and employee expense reimbursements. • Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve financial performance. • Ensure timely month-end and year-end closing activities. • Perform any other finance or accounting duties assigned by management. Qualifications • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field. • Professional certification (ACCA, CA, CMA, CPA, or equivalent) is preferred. • 4–5 years of relevant accounting experience (depending on organizational requirements). Skills & Competencies • Strong knowledge of accounting principles and financial reporting. • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP, Oracle, Tally, Odoo, or similar ERP systems). • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills. • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities. • High level of accuracy and attention to detail. • Strong organizational and time management skills. • Effective verbal and written communication skills. • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team. Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) • Timely completion of monthly and annual financial reports. • Accuracy of financial records and reconciliations. • Compliance with tax and statutory filing deadlines. • Timely processing of accounts payable and receivable. • Successful completion of audit requirements with minimal findings. • Accuracy of payroll and expense processing. • Effective cash flow monitoring and reporting. Working Conditions • Full-time position. • Standard office working hours. • May require additional hours during month-end, year-end closing, or audit periods.
