Job details

Education: Bachelor's degree in Operation Theatre Technology or equivalent qualification. Experience: 03 years Plus years of relevant experience. Supervise and coordinate the cleaning, decontamination, inspection, assembly, packaging, sterilization, storage, and distribution of surgical instruments and medical equipment. Responsible for all fix & non fix inventory placed in CSSD premises Ensure all instruments, trays, and reusable medical devices are processed according to approved sterilization protocols and infection prevention standards. Arrange and maintain sterilization equipment, instruments, and supplies required for routine and specialized procedures. Schedule and supervise CSSD staff duties and shifts to ensure adequate departmental coverage and smooth workflow. Maintain accurate records of sterilization cycles, biological and chemical indicator results, equipment maintenance, inventory usage, and staff attendance. Ensure compliance with aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and infection prevention and control standards. Verify the availability, functionality, and completeness of surgical instrument sets, equipment, and consumable items before dispatch to user departments and upon return for reprocessing. Monitor inventory levels of sterile supplies, consumables, and CSSD materials, initiating replenishment requests when required. Coordinate with Operation Theatre, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, and other relevant departments to ensure timely availability of sterile instruments and equipment. Ensure proper handling, transportation, storage, and traceability of sterile and contaminated items. Conduct routine inspections of CSSD areas to ensure cleanliness, organization, and compliance with safety and quality standards. Implement and monitor quality assurance measures related to sterilization processes and patient safety. Ensure all sterilization equipment is routinely checked, validated, and reported for maintenance when required. Maintain effective communication with OT personnel, surgeons, nursing staff, and other stakeholders regarding instrument availability, shortages, repairs, and special requirements. Participate in staff training, competency assessments, and continuous quality improvement initiatives within the CSSD.
