Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, is looking for a competent Lady Health Visitor based at Project Offices in Gilgit. Key Responsibilities: Clinical Service Delivery • Provide family planning counselling and administer contraceptive methods (oral, injectable, IUCDs, implants, condoms) in line with national protocols. • Conduct antenatal, postnatal, and neonatal checkups; refer high-risk cases to appropriate facilities • Identify and manage minor reproductive tract infections, menstrual health concerns, and basic gynaecological issues. • Provide safe delivery care where applicable and ensure post-delivery follow-up. Health Education & Counselling • Conduct individual and group counselling sessions on reproductive rights, safe motherhood, family planning, menstrual hygiene, breastfeeding, and adolescent health. • Support community-based sessions on early marriage, gender-based violence (GBV), and referral services for survivors • Promote male engagement and youth-friendly services during outreach activities. Outreach & Mobile Clinics • Participate in outreach/mobile clinic events and health camps in remote villages. • Ensure proper setup, record-keeping, and counselling space during mobile activities • Work with Community Mobilizers to generate demand and ensure follow-up visits. Record Keeping & Reporting • Maintain accurate patient records, service registers, stock registers, and referral logs. • Submit daily and monthly reports to the District Supervisor/Medical Officer. • Support data officers in compiling gender and age-disaggregated data. Commodities & Infection Control • Monitor availability and expiry dates of medical supplies, contraceptives, and essential drugs. • Follow infection prevention and control (IPC) protocols including proper waste disposal and hand hygiene practices. Expected Deliverables • Daily and monthly patient registers and service reports • Documented referrals and follow-ups • Counselling and group education session records • Stock usage logs and requisitions • Participation in at least 3 outreach activities/month Qualifications & Experience: • Diploma in Lady Health Visitor (LHV) from a recognized institution, Valid Registration with Pakistan Nursing Council (PNC) is mandatory • Minimum 2–3 years of experience in providing SRHR, FP, or MNCH services, Experience in remote/rural communities or in outreach- based health interventions is preferred • Competency in family planning methods and maternal health protocols • Strong interpersonal and communication skills • Compassionate, non-judgmental, and client-friendly approach • Familiarity with local language(s) and cultural norms in GB and Chitral • Basic knowledge of record keeping and report writing • Results-driven, ethical and adaptable professional with a strong service and stakeholder focus. • Strong integrity with the sensitivity to manage confidential information. • Demonstrates superior organizational skills and the agility to multitask and assume changing strategic responsibilities in a dynamic environment. • Possesses strong integrity, intellectual humility and demonstrable expertise in navigating ambiguity and constant change. • It shows resilience, flexibility and perseverance, especially during challenging periods. • Culturally sensitive, inclusive and respectful of diverse populations, reflecting the global values of AKDN. • A deep passion and commitment to AKDN’s purpose, values and ethical framework.
