Aga Khan Health Service, Pakistan, is looking for a competent Anesthetist / Trained Anesthetist based at Aga Khan Hospital, Gilgit. Key Responsibilities: • Conducts thorough preoperative evaluations to assess patients’ medical conditions and determine anesthetic risk. • Administers appropriate anesthetic methods based on patient needs and surgical requirements. • Monitors and manages patients’ vital functions during anesthesia and surgery to ensure safety and stability. • Provides postoperative pain management and oversee recovery from anesthesia. • Participates in emergency and trauma care requiring anesthetic intervention. • Collaborates with surgeons, physicians, and nursing staff to provide coordinated and effective patient care. • Ensures proper maintenance, calibration, and use of anesthesia equipment and monitoring devices. • Maintains accurate and complete anesthetic records in compliance with institutional standards. • Upholds infection prevention and patient safety protocols during all procedures. • Contributes to continuous quality improvement, clinical audits, and implementation of best practices. • Participates in on-call duties as per hospital schedule. • Provides training, mentorship, and clinical supervision to junior doctors, anesthesia technicians, and nursing staff.. Qualifications & Experience: • MBBS/FCPS, MCPS, 4 years training in Anesthesia, MCPS or equivalent qualification • Post-qualification residency training experience in Anesthesia at a reputable healthcare institution. • In-depth knowledge of anesthetic principles, pharmacology, and critical care. • Strong clinical judgment and problem-solving ability. • Proficiency in advanced airway management and life support techniques. • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team. • Commitment to patient safety, ethical practice, and quality improvement. • Leadership and mentoring capabilities. • Computer literacy and Tele consultation (ICU/NICU) • Results-driven, ethical and adaptable professional with a strong service and stakeholder focus. • Strong integrity with the sensitivity to manage confidential information. • Demonstrates superior organizational skills and the agility to multitask and assume changing strategic responsibilities in a dynamic environment. • Possesses strong integrity, intellectual humility and demonstrable expertise in navigating ambiguity and constant change. • Shows resilience, flexibility and perseverance, especially during challenging periods. • Culturally sensitive, inclusive and respectful of diverse populations, reflecting the global values of the AKDN. • A deep passion and commitment to AKDN’s purpose, values and ethical framework. • Flexibility to work as required to meet AKHS mandates.
